I have just had exactly the same experience. After two days of mucking around trying everything I could find in the MS Help Community and following several step by step tutorials on stopping various services, deleting all the updates, update logs etc, rebooting over and over, installing a few KBxxxx patches, MS Fix It does NOT work!

I was at my wits end. So after doing all that stuff yesterday I decided to start the update again and after This process used to take around ten minutes MAX and that was for a hundred or more updates. So I found this post and Dave The first update was there already after doing some yesterday manually but the second one was not. So I installed it manually and rebooted.

Update popped up saying there was 95 important updates and would I like to install them. The process began installing them immediately so I assume it was downloading them in the background or they were downloaded already and hiding someplace I did not delete yet.

Jean Carlos Rosaria. Hi, What do you mean by this and why should I not use Iobit?? Or can i install it after updating?? Anyway, thanks a ton for ending my misery. I wish I had found this post sooner! Thank you! The same problem just appeared on my Win 7 System. Manually installing KB, as the other one was already installed, seems to have fixed my problem too!!
