Even i am having the same problem. Unable to get anything on screen blank black screen after waking up from sleep. I found that problem is my laptop fingerprint sensor, I have a DELL Vostro laptop, in has a finger print sensor and a software named “DigitalPersona Fingerprint Software” which works with the sensor, when windows wanna wake up sometimes the software can not detect the sensor I guess so it prevents windows log on screen to appear, I think it’s a bug for both software and windows!
There are never any messages logged. Most times before it goes into sleep mode but just goes into lock mode it will prompt me for my password and give me the option to switch users. One thing I do have is auto login setup so that it will automatically login upon bootup. Maybe that is affecting the sleep mode login?
